Slater Felt Co., Inc.

The Slater Felt Co., Inc. manufacturing plant was built, equipped and staffed in the Fall/Winter of 1990. From December, 1990 through February 17, 2002 the plant was operated by Tex Tech Industries, Inc.

On February 18, 2002, Slater Felt Co., Inc. came into existence as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southern Felt Co., Inc. which is in turn a wholly-owned subsidiary of Andrew Industries, Ltd. a family-owned holding company headquartered in Accrington, England.

While it has manufactured products as diverse as tennis felt and business machine felt since its inception in 1990, Slater Felt’s principal activity has been the manufacture of needle-punched felt for the air filtration industry.

In the fiscal year just concluded, Slater Felt manufactured over 1,000,000 linear yards of felt, enough to reach from Kansas City, Missouri to Denver, Colorado!

Slater Felt Co. currently employs twenty Saline County residents. Fifteen of these employees live in either Slater or Gilliam and the surrounding area. We proudly support the goals and activities of the Slater community and the local Chamber of Commerce.
